I am a clinical Psychologist, licensed within The District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. I completed the Psy.D. program at The George Washington University, Center for Professional Psychology in 2004. I obtained my first license in 2006.
I enjoy helping people to improve their functioning; ultimately living their lives in a way that is congruent with the most adaptive functioning possible! It is through a thorough assessment and individualized approach that I seek to understand a person’s difficulties. To achieve that, I assess each patient in the context of his/her culture, faith, family grouping, and ethnicity. Additionally, I seek to help patients better understand their motivations and the impact of belief systems on their choices and behaviors.
My approach involves an integrated way of conceptualizing your difficulties as well as conceiving of ways to empower you to improve your functioning. While I am dynamically trained, I also carefully and skillfully utilize Cognitive Behavioral Strategies, Mindfulness, as well as Holistic Principles, in helping those that I work with to find congruence between the way their thoughts, beliefs, actions, and goals for self-actualization align. If you allow me the privilege of working with you, I guarantee I will bring my best efforts to help you develop into your best self.
