Michele Martini, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

I graduated from Turin University (Italy) with a Masters Degree in Clinical and Social Psychology.  I am also a graduate of the Eteropoiesi Center, with a Professional Degree in Systemic Psychotherapy.  Currently, I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Washington, D.C.  I have more than 10 years of experience working with individual clients, couples, and families.

I provide a supportive and person-centered approach to therapy.  I work with each individual with sensitivity and understanding to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal goals they are committed to reach. Together we can work to resolve the effects of the past on the present and efficiently deal with any personal or professional life challenges.

My therapy style consists of creating the best possible environment for my client, through which new perspectives and new solutions can be found.  My theoretical orientation is based on Systems Theory, integrating Family Systems and Person-Centered approaches.  I use various techniques in my practice, including genogram, biofeedback, mindfulness, and CBT to offer an effective, personalized approach tailored to each client.

I’m happy to work with English, Italian, and Spanish-speaking clients.
