I am a graduate of New York University’s Silver school of Social Work program and I am licensed as a clinical social worker in the District of Columbia. I have extensive experience working with culturally diverse clients in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient and outpatient mental health clinics, as well as a partial hospitalization program for individuals suffering from eating disorders and other co-occurring mental health issues. I have experience conducting individual, group, and family therapy with clients struggling with stress/anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, eating disorders, body image issues, and relationship and adjustment concerns. I truly believe in the power of the mind-body connection and I’m also a certified yoga instructor. Therefore, when clients are interested, I incorporate yoga and mindfulness/meditation into my therapy sessions.
I take a strengths-based and integrative counseling approach and work collaboratively with each client to help them identify and work towards their personal goals. I modify my therapeutic interventions to meet each individual’s needs, while maintaining that the therapeutic alliance is one of the most useful tools in making change. My warm and accepting nature combined with my clinical skill set allows for a comfortable environment free of judgment where clients can safely work through their issues and move closer to achieving the fulfilling and meaningful life they desire.
