I am a licensed professional counselor in the District of Columbia and received my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I am a PhD candidate in International Psychology at the same institution. I also received a Masters certificate in Global Mental Health from Harvard Medical School.
I enjoy working with individuals who seek to understand and develop their potential. With warmth and directness, I focus on what concerns you today and work with you to explore your present and past for insight as to how you can thrive. My approach integrates insight oriented/psychodynamic/attachment theory, as well as a strengths-based approach with cognitive and behavioral techniques – attuned and calibrated to you.
As a certified yoga teacher, and with an interest in the mind/body/emotion connection, I hope to offer a fresh approach to therapy that is rooted in the reality of everyday life, yet is emotionally/psychologically/spiritually informed, attuned, and supportive.
I work with a wide range of adults and issues. I have experience and an interest in: anxiety, depression, trauma in its many forms, the impact of oppression, identity development and acculturation, as well as supporting navigation of life adjustment issues (career, family, relationships, transitions, loss and grief).
